In the process of new product development, if the client wants to change a big part of the standard product to be a brand-new product, this situation will be refused by most manufacturers, but this is very normal thing in our team’s view. Modify the product many times to achieve the most satisfactory condition by the client just reflect our company’s core value: we are made for customization.
This time, we received a customization request from a client which just get into the ergonomic office product industry. The client saw this tablet magnetic stand on our website and hoped that we could provide some help.
Solve production difficulties for client
The client said that they are a small start-up brand and wants to make their own accessories brand, but encountered some difficulties in finding a manufacturer for development.
They find it difficult to work with suppliers. E.g:
- They are new entrants to the industry with very little experience, so it is necessary to collect information on similar products extensively at the beginning;
- They are an emerging brand and need support with low MOQs to test market acceptance, but many suppliers are not interested in small quantities;
- Some suppliers refused him because their new product requires lots of modifications and customizations based on the existing products, the development process is too complicated and time-consuming.
We collected and studyed the client’s customization needs in the first place, and quickly produced the first version of the sample.
Color box design
The client expressed satisfaction after receiving the sample, and hoped that the packaging of the product would also be designed by us. Client told that they are unable to design packaging and have no experience in finding the manufacturer. Our designer realized about the client’s idea of the color box, and completed the design and prototype making of the color box according to the size of the product.
Insert design
The color box was originally designed to display to the consumer with an inner packing of plastic bag, The client expressed that he wants to add a insert to the box considering the advanced design of the product. The client only can provide a hand-drawn sketch of the insert, and our current suppliers cannot manufacture it , so we help him designed the insert according to the hand-drawn sketch, and find a new supplier for outsourced production.
Multiple suppliers collaboration and assembly
Magnetic plate, color box and insert are from 3 different suppliers, and the data cable supporting the product is also produced by another supplier of the client. We need to coordinate the delivery time of the 4 suppliers, carry out collecting, and be responsible for the final assembly and quality inspection.
After receiving the samples of the whole set of products, the client said he was very satisfied with the final product design and quality, and thanked us for completing the development of the entire project in such a short time. Because of our trust and good expectations for product sales, he directly ordered double of the product packaging to facilitate the fast delivery of the next product order.
