As technology advances, the electronic product’s cost of production become lower and lower, and consumers are also upgrading faster. The traditional low-load arm only has a maximum load of 9 kg and can only support monitors below 32”. This is no longer enough to satisfy the demands of computer users, especially gamer players. Adding heavy-duty monitor arms to their product lines is a trend for office furniture brands to meet market demands.

We were recently approached by a brand of lifting table who wanted us to develop a new type of heavy-duty monitor arm for him.

Help client achieve production

He wants to develop a heavy duty monitor arm with 20 kg(44 lbs) load, which is able to support 49″ curved monitor  maximum. The load range of our general products is 2-9 kg, and the common heavy-duty monitor arm on the market has only a load of 15 kg.

The surface of the normal monitor arm only needs to do powder coating, but this client wants to make the surface of the arm silver and metallic, like the polishing finish that the Humanscale brand stand has. Because of the polishing finish has not been done in our existing factory and there are very few factories with both powder coating and polishing finish technology. In order to reduce the trouble and coordination time for client to find multiple suppliers, we decided to contact an outsourcing factory and send the parts that need polishing finish to another factory for processing.

Confirmation of Sample

After the outsourcing factory finished, the sample have sent back to our factory for final assembly and quality inspection. In the process of video inspection, the client said he doesn’t like the frosted surface, and preferring the smooth surface. Due to the short delivery time, we sent the first version of the sample at first. And at the same time, we urgently made the second version of the sample free of charge for the client’s reference.

Successful Pre-sale

While making samples, we learned that our client wants to start pre-sale in advance to test the feedback from the market. In order to help the client with pre-sale effectively, we have taken professional product marketing pictures and videos for him. At the same time, the product’s parameters, functions, selling points, etc. are summarized into a pamphlet to help pre-sale publicity. E.g:

·Suitable for monitors weighing  28–44 lbs (12.7–20 kg) with a depth of 6″–12″ (15–30 cm) without stand.

·Monitor can be turned 360° at connection point of arm and extension; turning is restricted to 180° at connection point of extension and base.

·Tilt Range: 15° backward, 5° forward.

·Product Weight: 15.5 lbs (7 kg).

In order to ensure that the delivery time is not affected by other factors, so that client can start pre-sale as scheduled. We dispatched quality inspectors to the factory to supervise production and shipment. After a high degree of cooperation between us and the factory, our delivery time was 10 days earlier.

Later, the client replied that the pre-sale was a great success with our help. They quickly grabbed the local market, and the market feedback was good, which brought them a good profit.
